Congress 2010
Reaching the Peak of Perioperative Practice, “Safe, Quality, Collaborative Practice”

ON EDUCATION…
Back to basics one may say
Traditionalists and new wave generation,
Achieve a goal for this Congress week
We all shall have a knowledge base of education.

Education credits achieved
Thru sessions at Congress AORN;
By attendance, online, or webinars
Members so adaptable, the changes are well embraced.

ON HOUSE OF DELEGATES…
Divided it may seem,
The House Of Delegates at AORN Congress of 2010
United one can feel, though,
Human spirit, there’s no replacement.
Back to basics you may say
From tradition to hi-tech,
Tech-advances we do admire,
But hear the voices, how euphoric!!!

With the business agenda, discussions were initiated,
With energy from the floor, proposals were substituted;
Amendments to the amendment and deliberations from the body,
Pros and cons were heard as they came in numbers;
Great to hear both sides agree and disagree,
To know I was not far off from where everybody stands;
Time extension was requested and so graciously granted,
Then the question was called, and the Motions were passed.

ON 2011…FREEDOM TO BE…
Nothing to hold you back nor slow you down,
No matter what politics are brewing;
Full steam ahead the train shall still be
Members want to discuss clinical issues.

Anne Marie Herlehy voted president elect. Also voted in was the $25 dues increase. Also new, will be who is eligible to vote. Stay tuned to AORN.ORG for detailed information!

It’s voting day! Those of you that are delegates, please allow enough time to get through the line. The computers are a bit stubborn this morning.
